Resolved Question: Is it illegal to pitch a tent at a random spot in the Smoky Mountains at Pigeon Forge, TN?

Me and a few friends are looking to go road tripping this Spring and was wondering if we have to pay to stay at a frontcountry campsite or if we could just pitch our tent in the woods somewhere.
